Job Title: Head Summer Swim Coach & Assistant Coaches

Location: Whitpain Greens Swim Club

Duration: Seasonal - May 27, 2025 - July 26, 2025

Hours: 20-30 hours per week, including daily morning practices, Tuesday & Thursday evening swim meets & one Saturday for Championships

Salary: $2,500-6,000 depending on experience and role

Whitpain Greens is dedicated to promoting aquatic sports and fostering a love for swimming in our community. We offer a supportive and fun environment where swimmers from ages 5-18 with a variety of skill levels can thrive. This summer, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced swim coach to lead our program.

Job Summary:

The summer swim coach will be responsible for coaching and developing swimmers of varying ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about swimming, possess excellent communication skills, and has experience in coaching or teaching swim techniques. The role involves planning and conducting swim practices, organizing swim meets, and ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching & Training: Develop and implement daily swim practices that focus on technique, endurance, and strategy. Tailor training plans to suit individual swimmer needs and goals.
  • Swim Meets: Prepare swimmers for swim meets. Organize and attend swim meets, ensuring swimmers are ready and equipped.
  • Safety & Supervision: Ensure a safe swimming environment by enforcing pool rules and maintaining awareness of swimmer safety at all times.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with swimmers, parents, and swim coordinators.
  • Team Building: Foster a positive and inclusive team atmosphere. Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among swimmers.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with scheduling and other administrative tasks related to the swim program.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous coaching or teaching experience in swimming is preferred. Demonstrates ability to work with swimmers of various ages and skill levels.
  • Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification required. Lifeguard certification is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of swim techniques and training methods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers.

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to work swim meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in addition to one weekend championship meet at the end of July.
  • Background check may be required.
